Get to know Mike
Mike is an attorney at Everbright Legacy Law, where he works with clients to build and carry out estate plans that fit their goals, family circumstances, and long-term needs. Much of his practice involves guiding clients through complex estate planning and probate issues so they understand their options and put a clear, effective plan in place.
Mike’s style with clients is conversational and practical. He takes time to understand what each client is trying to accomplish, explains the options in plain terms, and works through questions and concerns with them until the plan makes sense.
Those who know Mike well describe him as:
- Dependable: Clients know they can count on him.
- Approachable: People feel comfortable talking with him.
- Practical: He gives straightforward advice that fits each client’s situation.
No single moment led Mike to estate planning. He was drawn to an area of law where he could work directly with people, solve practical problems, and help clients plan for issues that have a real impact on them and their families. Over time, he found he especially enjoyed the mix of problem-solving, attention to detail, and personal interaction that comes with this work.
Mike likes solving problems and helping people work through decisions that can be difficult or complicated. He finds it rewarding to take something that seems overwhelming at first and help a client leave with a plan that makes sense to them. He believes good planning can make things much easier for clients and their families down the road.
Outside the office, Mike coaches Little League baseball and soccer.
Among his proudest accomplishments outside of work is racing Ironman Louisville in 2007.
A quote that captures his philosophy: “The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.” (John F. Kennedy)
His next personal challenge is the Twin Cities Marathon. On his bookshelf is “Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries” by Neil deGrasse Tyson.
Seven words that describe him: thoughtful, analytical, straightforward, deliberate, patient, curious, and personable.
When he’s not working, Mike enjoys racing in marathons and triathlons.
