Get to know McKinzie
As a Legal Assistant at Everbright Legacy Law, Kinzie works with clients who have special needs and their families, acting as a liaison between them and the firm’s attorneys. She keeps clients updated, answers their questions, and gathers the information and documents the attorneys need to meet each client’s goals.
Kinzie has a younger sister with special needs and grew up watching her parents work to access government benefits to help pay for her care. Over the years she has become more involved in managing her sister’s benefits and access to care, experiencing firsthand how confusing and overwhelming these systems can be.
She is motivated by hearing the relief in a client’s voice when she’s able to say, “we’ve got this,” in response to a problem they’ve been facing on their own.
Kinzie volunteers with the Minnesota Disability Law Center and the Volunteer Lawyers Network.
When she’s not working, Kinzie enjoys reading, throwing pottery, hiking, and spending time with loved ones.
