Get to know Mariana
As the special needs legal assistant at Everbright Legacy Law, Mariana is the bridge between the firm’s Special Needs Planning team and the individuals with disabilities and their families the firm serves. She keeps scheduling, communications, and file management on track for the team.
Mariana’s style with clients is flexible. She meets each client wherever they are.
Those who know Mariana well describe her as:
- Lifelong learner: She is curious about people from all walks of life.
- Passionate: She is all in on whatever she chooses to do.
- Collaborative: She loves working in teams committed to helping everyone succeed.
Mariana has worked with vulnerable adults and children since 2004, most recently with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has always believed the measure of a society is how well it cares for its vulnerable members, so working alongside teams dedicated to supporting and empowering them is meaningful to her.
She has always been motivated by understanding how others navigate their lives and, when asked, partnering with them to help them move further along their journey.
Among her proudest accomplishments outside of work is creating a home with her family.
A quote that captures her philosophy: “The farther one goes, the less one knows.”
Her next personal challenge is writing another book. On her bookshelf is “Wolf in the Parlor: The Eternal Connection Between Humans and Dogs” by Jon Franklin.
Seven words that describe her: curious, detail-oriented, big-picture focused, intellectual, emotional, kind, and diverse. One thing most people don’t know about her is that she learned the two oldest written languages.
When she’s not working, Mariana enjoys time with close friends, writing, reading, and being with her family.
