Get to know Laurie

As a Paralegal at Everbright Legacy Law, Laurie assists with probate and trust administrations following a death. She drafts documents for court proceedings, communicates with clients about needed documentation, collects asset and debt information, prepares inventories and accountings, and coordinates with clients and accountants on necessary tax filings.

 

Those who know Laurie well describe her as:

  • Organized: She makes sure the firm obtains all necessary information and follows up regularly to keep client documentation in order.
  • Hardworking: She works diligently with staff, attorneys, and clients to gather everything needed in a timely fashion.
  • Helpful: She is always willing to assist other staff members whenever needed.

Laurie first entered the legal field when an attorney needed a secretary and she was available to start right away. After a few years she found she truly enjoyed the work, so she returned to school for her associate degree as a paralegal. Since then, she has had the good fortune of working for several wonderful attorneys who have helped her grow and succeed.

 

She is motivated by helping families navigate a legal process that can be difficult to understand, often at a time when they are also coping with loss.

 

Laurie has been married for nearly 39 years to her high school sweetheart, and together they raised two smart, talented, and wonderful sons.
