Get to know Katie
As a Life/Elder Care Coordinator at Everbright Legacy Law, Katie guides individuals and families through complex care systems to ensure they receive the services, housing, and support they need. She specializes in navigating government programs, helping clients understand their options and access benefits, and often solves the common problem of identifying the right contacts and agencies so clients know exactly who to call to avoid delays.
Katie works in a client-centered, highly responsive way, meeting individuals and families where they are while navigating complex systems on their behalf. Her approach is hands-on and advocacy-driven, prioritizing clear communication, persistence, and practical problem-solving so clients not only understand their options but have a direct path forward.
Those who know Katie well describe her as:
- Advocacy-driven: She consistently stands up for her clients’ needs.
- Resourceful: She navigates complex systems to find solutions.
- Dependable: She follows through to ensure her clients actually receive the support they’re entitled to.
Katie discovered her passion for working with the elderly while working in nursing homes and assisted living facilities during college, which led her to social work and gerontology.
She is motivated by seeing the difference she makes, taking one thing off someone’s already full plate so they can breathe a little easier.
Katie volunteers her time to assist families with DHS appeal hearings.
Katie was a keynote speaker at Chad Greenway’s Tendable Hearts organization, presenting on government programs and how to navigate them.
One of her greatest personal accomplishments was serving as a keynote speaker to an audience of 550 people about government programs and how to navigate them.
A quote that captures her philosophy: “Clarity creates access: when people understand their options and who to call, they can finally get the help they need.”
Her next challenge is passing her motorcycle driving course. The book she’s currently reading is “Stop Walking on Eggshells.”
Seven words that describe her: organized, resilient, dependable, funny, passionate, dedicated, and tenacious. One thing most people don’t know about her is that she was a barrel racer who competed in local rodeos.
When she’s not working, Katie enjoys spending time with her kids, hiking, riding her Harley, and riding horses.
